Summit 2017 Recap

On 17 May 2017, digital experts from across Europe met at the Webtrekk Summit, Berlin’s premier analytics and digital marketing conference. More than 250 guests and speakers from companies like KUKA, ProSiebenSat.1, FlixBus, ING and DocMorris took over the TITANIC Hotel to shed light on the technology, trends and future of “The Era of the Hyper-Connected Customer”.
The Summit agenda comprised of experts across numerous industries – ranging from e-commerce to banking to digital marketing – that are all facing the demands of modern-day, cross-device personalization and customization.
The presentations covered an array of topics. Thorsten Ahlers, Head of Marketing at Brille24, explained how they deploy data to optimize the customer journey, while ING’s Timothy Dieduksman focused on how to create a great customer experience for app users.

The CIO of Flixbus, Daniel Krauss, explained how FlixBus has used a data-driven strategy to transform from an upstart into a vibrant hub of innovation.

Online Marketing Rockstars founder Philipp Westermeyer, who broke down how today’s companies can use data to stay competitive, might have summed it up best: “We are living in the age of digital marketing.”

Being data-driven is not only an opportunity – it’s a huge challenge, too. During the panel discussion on the upcoming EU data privacy regulation GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), Privacy Advisor Dr. Jana Moser from Datareality, Hendrik Kempfert, Commercial Director DACH at Adform and Christian Sauer, founder of Webtrekk, discussed the implications of the new law and how to prepare for it.

Charged with new knowledge on how to use data to drive revenue and growth, the event continued into the evening at the annual Webtrekk Summit Rooftop Party – held atop the famed House of Weekend – while attendees enjoying a marvelous sunset over Berlin with drinks and live music.

Day two of the Webtrekk Summit, Workshop Day, provided a great opportunity for participants to learn hands-on from digital business experts. They gained in-depth insights into analytics and digital marketing topics such as the usage of onsite data for marketing campaigns, how to build Webtrekk dashboards and best practices for creating personalized experiences for customers based on data.
